Pacers vs Hornets Pick: Friday, January 29th

Pacers vs Hornets Pick: Friday, January 29th: These teams met on Wednesday night in a 116-106 road win for Indiana. It was the Pacers’ third win in four games. Domantas Sabonis was questionable to play and was excellent. He went 9/10 from the field for 22 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists, although he did turn the ball over 5 times, but the rest of the team only turned the ball over 7 times, so it was a clean game. Doug McDermott had a monster game going for 28 points. Our guy Trot Wam often talks about McBuckets being an asset for these Pacers and we saw it Wednesday night. Malcolm Brogdon went for 25 points, 7 boards, and 6 assists, while Justin Holiday scored 19 of his own. Caris LeVert and TJ Warren remain out indefinitely, but this will be a strong team when those two are added back to this lineup.

As for Charlotte, they are coming off back to back losses, their starters were strong in Wednesday’s loss, but it was their bench that was atrocious. Miles Bridges was a -30 in 26 minutes and Lonzo Ball was a -24 in 22 minutes. This team is much better with Cody Zeller at the five spot, rather than Bismack Biyombo. Zeller can run the floor and went for 10 points, 14 boards, and 4 assists, and he didn’t turn the ball over once. Zeller was a +8 while on the floor, while Biyombo was a -15 in just 9 scoreless minutes. Terry Rozier led Hornets scorers with 20 points but was a -15. The most effective player was PJ Washington who went for 18 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists, and was a +17.
