CALGARY, Alberta (AP) - The Calgary Flames have signed Dougie Hamilton to a six-year contract.

Hamilton's deal is reportedly worth $34.5 million. That means the 22-year-old defenseman will count $5.75 million per season against the salary cap through 2020-21.

The Flames acquired Hamilton from the Boston Bruins on Friday for the 15th, 42nd and 57th picks in the draft.

Hamilton is coming off career highs in goals (10), assists (32) and points (42).

The Toronto native was the ninth pick in 2011, which the Bruins got from the Maple Leafs in the Phil Kessel trade.
